American athlete Reggie Pearman (1924-2012) winning the 880 yards event from Canadian athlete Jack Hutchins (1926-2008), British athlete Tom White (1917-1985) and American athlete John Barnes (1929-2004) at the British Games, held at White City, London, England, 9th August 1952. British athletes Derek Johnson (1933-2004) and Albert Webster (1925-2010) finished fifth and sixth.
